Intermediate Field Engineer - Protection & Controls

Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work in high voltage substation facilities (including distribution, transmission, and generation facilities). Equipment includes instrument transformers, high voltage breakers and associated substation equipment, all types of protective relays and control systems, remote terminal units (supervisory control and data acquisition units), and communications equipment. Coordinates all relay maintenance and testing activities so as to comply with installation and maintenance standards. Responsible for compliance documentation of equipment tested as per NERC, FERC, and local utility requirements. WORK FROM ANYWHERE -  NO RELOCATION REQUIRED!!

Relay Testing Technician – Transmission & Distribution

  • Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME and two years of experience. OR Graduate of Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and five years minimum same OR similar work experience OR High School Education or equivalent and six years minimum same or similar work experience.

  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA, NETA, IEEE and NFPA.

  • Perform micro-processor based and electro-mechanical protective relay testing of various manufactures to include Schweitzer, GE Multilin, Beckwith and Basler.

  • Perform commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment.

  • Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel, transformers and circuit breakers.

  • Perform manual and automated protective relay testing.

Field Service Supervisor – Lead Tester

Transformer Field Service/Engineering consists of the analysis of requirements and assessment of changes for Transformer Equipment. It also includes consultation and negotiation with customers involving installation, modification, and repair of Transformer equipment and products in customer field locations.

TRANSFORMER TECHNICIAN

Join our team of leaders in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, engineering, & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Transformer Technicians to work nationwide. Our client is a member of NETA and has one of the largest field services divisions in the industry. 

Industrial Switchgear Technician

  • Will work on low and medium voltage circuit breakers and protective relaying, transformers, motor soft starters and variable frequency drives.

  • Perform installations, convert, and retrofits, interface wiring on conversion applications.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on industrial electrical equipment.

  • Test and prepare job sites to complete orders.

  • Calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing and rebuilding low and medium voltage breakers, load break switches, contactors and Motor control centers (MCC).

  • Perform testing; Megger, Ductor, A resistance test and Primary and Secondary injection tests.

Sr. Electrical Field Technician

  • Troubleshoot, test and inspect complex relay calibration and power metering. May be mentally demanding, requiring concentration on several projects and activities at once. Position requires limited supervision.

  • Perform instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, generator testing, power meter calibration and high voltage circuit breaker testing.

  • Troubleshooting capabilities, relay calibration, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation, medium voltage breaker and switchgear testing.

  • Test and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, complex relay systems and power metering.

  • Perform start-up services on switchgear up through the 230kV class.

Engineering Solutions Manager

  • Manage directly or through subordinate technology leaders, physical resources and engineers engaged in Advanced testing, Transformer Assessments and Monitoring Projects within company.

  • Direct current engineering efforts and in collaboration with the TLC manager drive future innovative R&D projects to potential growth of the Engineering Solutions business.

  • Direct and support customer specified requirements to the right engineering resource or technology leader.

  • Support marketing during quotation stage and to closure for an order. Technical side of the Field Service projects.

  • Proactively seek, develop and implement initiatives to cost effectively achieve goals and ensure utmost customer satisfaction.

  • Promote and enable professional and technical development of staff.

  • Oversee Engineering Solutions budget with Controller and Management.
